Jackets Make Push on Final Day of Rose-Hulman Invite
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Brian Jones and Jace Neal each fired a 79 in Sunday’s final round of the Rose-Hulman Men’s Golf Invitational to lead Defiance College past the Engineers in the team standings and into a fifth-place finish.

Neal and Jones used the hot round to each finish at 169 for the 36-hole tournament and ended in a tie for 20th. Alex Goecke shaved five shots off of his opening-round score to card an 83 and tied for 22nd with a final of 171.
The trio of top-25 performances fueled DC on Sunday, as the Jackets shot a 332 to improve by 26 strokes over Saturday's effort. Defiance ended with a 690 and finished one shot ahead of Rose-Hulman (691) for fifth place in the six-team event.
DePauw claimed the team championship by 10 shots over Mount St. Joseph, shooting a 640 behind Nick Reardon's individual medalist score of 155. Franklin ended with a 656 to take third place and Anderson finished in fourth with a 668.
Defiance will now turn its attention towards the final event of the season, as the 2010 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship is set to begin on April 24. The first two rounds will take place on April 24 and 25 in Franklin, Ind., while DC will host the final two rounds at Kettenring Country Club on May 1 and 2.
