Neal Scores Top-15 Finish at DC Spring Invitational
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College’s Jace Neal followed up an opening round score of 80 on Saturday with a 78 on Sunday to end in a tie for 14th position at the 2010 DC Spring Invitational at the Kettenring Country Club.

Along with Neal's top-15 performance, the Yellow Jackets also got a pair of top-30 efforts from Brian Jones and Alex Goecke, as Jones shot a two-day total of 161 to end in 23rd and Goecke carded a 163 to finish in 29th.
That trio helped Defiance post a 324 on Sunday to end in eighth place in the team standings with a 653. The Jackets missed a top-five placement by 10 shots, as Hanover and Tiffin tied for fifth at 643 and Rochester ended seventh with a 649.
Franklin won the team title with a 615, while Transylvania finished just one shot off the pace for second place. Trine (620) and Mount St. Joseph (637) rounded out the top four.
Trine's Jared Lambert claimed the individual medalist honor by firing a 71 on Sunday to end with a 147. Lambert edged Transylvania's Justin Tereshko (148) by one stroke and Franklin's Eric Whitaker (149) by two.
Defiance will play its final regular season event of the spring schedule on April 17 and 18 when it competes in the Rose-Hulman Tournament. DC will then close the 2010 campaign with the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship beginning on April 24. Defiance will host the third and fourth rounds of the HCAC Championship on May 1 and 2.
