DC Men’s Golf Wraps Up Final Day at MSJ Invitational
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s golf team struggled on the final day of the Mt. St. Joseph Spring Invitational, slipping to 10th in the standings with a 367.
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Defiance College men's golf team struggled on the final day of the Mt. St. Joseph Spring Invitational, slipping to 10th in the standings with a 367. The Jackets ended the two-day tourney ahead of Manchester and the Hanover 'B' squad with a total score of 715.
Alex Goecke was the only Yellow Jacket to improve his individual score, outside of Greg Vogt who was competing as an individual. Goecke shaved three strokes off his opening round score to climb into 37th place in the standings and into a tie with Jace Neal with a 179. Brian Jones led the Jackets with a score of 176 and a 33rd-place finish.
Franklin fired a collective score of 640 to claim the team championship by two shots over the host MSJ team. Anderson rounded out the top three with a 664 and MSJ's Nick Barlow carded a 153 to claim the individual title.
Defiance will be back in action on March 27 and 28 when it competes in the Hanover Invitational.
