Men's Golf Rolls Past Kenyon
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – In its second match in as many days under the Myrtle Beach sun, the Defiance College men’s golf team picked up a victory in a head-to-head match, this time topping Kenyon by 12 strokes at the Valley of Eastport.
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – In its second match in as many days under the Myrtle Beach sun, the Defiance College men's golf team picked up a victory in a head-to-head match, this time topping Kenyon by 12 strokes at the Valley of Eastport.
The Yellow Jackets shaved 13 strokes off their total team score from Monday, finishing with a 346. Kenyon's top four ended at 358, 12 shots back of the DC lineup.
Jace Neal carded a single-round total of 76 to lead the charge for the Yellow Jackets, while Brian Jones backed him up with an 82. Matt Gehring shot a 93 and Jared James rounded out DC's top four with a 95. Greg Vogt competed as DC's fifth-golfer and finished with a 97 over the 18 holes.
Defiance will head back north to play the rest of its spring schedule. That will begin on March 27 and 28, when the Jackets compete in the Muskingum Invitational.
