Jackets Place Third at DC Fall Invitational
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Yellow Jackets placed a pair of golfers in the top ten of Sunday’s Defiance College Fall Invitational at Kettenring Country Club and ended third as a team in the six-team, single-round event.

Jace Neal and Aaron Konold each fired a single-round total of 80 to end in a tie for eighth place. The top-ten finish was the second of the week for Neal, who ended second in Tuesday's Jon Speiss Memorial Tournament.
Brian Jones took 16th with an 85, while Matt Haviland shot an 86 and Matt Gehring ended with an 87. Jared James competed as an individual and finished 13th with an 83. As a team, Defiance finished with a 311 and placed all six of its competitors inside the top 21.
The team title went to Trine University after the Thunder came in at 299. Ohio Northern was second at 341 and DC rounded out the top three with its 331. The ONU JV squad's 344 was good for fourth, while Indiana Tech (354) and Siena Heights (368) ended in fifth and sixth.
Trine's Jason Paff and Jared Lambert took the top two individual spots with a 71 and 73 respectively, while Ohio Northern's Tom Repciky took third with his 74.
Defiance will close out its fall campaign on Oct. 11, when it hosts the DC Open. Tee time is set for 12:00 pm.
