Chad Carlson is in his second season with the Defiance College men's basketball program in 2018-19 as a graduate assistant coach.

Carlson, a Hope (Mich.) College graduate, was a four-year member of the basketball program and a two-year captain. Carlson led Hope to back-to-back MIAA regular-season titles and to two NCAA Division III Tournament appearances during his junior and senior seasons.

He also holds several records at Hope, including the record for three-point field goals made in a game, season, and career, as well as the school-record for minutes played in a career.

While at Defiance, Carlson will be pursuing at Master's degree in Business and is set to graduate in May of 2019.
