Inside The Numbers
- Senior Marell Jordan led the Yellow Jackets with a game-high 27 points on 11-of-23 shooting from the field. He also ended the game with ten rebounds and two steals.
- Sophomore Dejsani Beamon added a career-high 25 points and dished out six assists to help the Defiance offense.
- Sophomore Andre Edwards chipped in eight points and nine boards.
- Freshman Landen Swanner scored seven points and recorded four assists on the night.
- As a team, the Yellow Jackets went 33-of-66 (.500) from the floor and shot 6-of-20 (.300) from the three-point line.
- Quentez Columbus led Manchester with 18 points and notched five assists.
- Bryant Smith added 17 points and went 5-of-11 from downtown.
- As a team, the Spartans shot 29-of-65 (.446) and went 9-of-27 (.333) from behind the arc.
The Difference
- After a quick 4-0 from Manchester, the Yellow Jackets went on an 11-0 run to take an 11-4 lead with 14 minutes remaining in the first half.
- Defiance held the lead for the most of the first half but saw the Spartans make a run at the end of the first half and take a slim 39-38 lead into halftime.
- Both teams continued to battle back-and-forth for most of the second half.
- The Yellow Jackets regained the lead, 63-62, with less than eight minutes remaining in the game after a Swanner layup.
- Defiance held on to the lead for the rest of the game after several clutch plays down the stretch and take the game, 80-74.
