DC's Sales Named All-American by DIII News
DEFIANCE, Ohio - Yet another postseason honor was recently awarded to Defiance College’s Nick Sales, as DIII News selected the forward as an Honorable Mention All-American in their latest publication.
DEFIANCE, Ohio - Yet another postseason honor was recently awarded to Defiance College's Nick Sales, as DIII News selected the forward as an Honorable Mention All-American in their latest publication.
Sales is the 23rd All-American in the history of the Defiance College men's basketball program and the second Yellow Jacket to receive that honor in the past three years, following Anthony Pettaway's nod as a National Association of Basketball Coaches Third-Team All-American selection following the 2007-2008 campaign.
The Barberton, Ohio, native adds the All-American award to a lengthy string of accolades since the end of the 2009-2010 season, which include being voted as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, being named D3hoops.com Second-Team All-Midwest Region and earning First-Team All-Midwest District recognition from the NABC.
The honors come on the heels of the finest season in Sales' career, after he set career highs with 453 points, 237 rebounds, 76 assists and 64 steals. Sales played in all 29 games and led Defiance College to a 23-6 record for the school's most victories in a single season since joining the NCAA Division III ranks prior to the 1991-1992 season.
