Coltrain named Second Team All-Region
DEFIANCE, Ohio -- Defiance College senior linebacker Thomas Coltrain has been honored as one of the region's top defensive players in NCAA Division III football by garnering Second Team All-Region 4 from D3Football.com.
The Second Team recognition is Coltrain's third time on D3Football's All-Region Team after a Second Team nod last season and First Team as a sophomore during 2020-21 season played in the spring. Coltrain led Defiance in tackles for the fourth year in a row in 2023 with a career-best 100 tackles. The Leslie, Mich. native also earned First Team All-HCAC for the fourth straight year thanks to leading the conference in tackles as well. Coltrain also moved up Defiance's career tackles list to finish his career in third place with 357 career tackles and holds the program's career solo tackles record with 223.
Defiance College finished the 2023 season with a record of 4-6, which was its last as a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets will make the jump to NAIA beginning on July 1, 2024 and the football program will compete in the Mid-States Football Association as the lone NAIA football program in the state of Ohio.
