Harvey and Patridge Named HCAC Players of the Week
GREENWOOD, IND. -- Defiance College football player Kendrick Harvey has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, while volleyball player Jaidyn Patridge was named HCAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
GREENWOOD, IND. -- Defiance College football player Kendrick Harvey has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, while volleyball player Jaidyn Patridge was named HCAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Sophomore Kendrick Harvey (Clearwater, Fla.) blocked a punt in the first quarter of Saturday's 34-14 victory over Earlham and returned it 15 yards for a score that gave DC a 14-0 advantage midway through the first quarter. Harvey also returned a punt for 35 yards and a kickoff for another 26 yards in Saturday's win.
Senior Jaidyn Patridge (Toledo/Springfield) set a school-record with 48 digs in Saturday's five-set victory over Franklin College in their HCAC opener. Patridge now leads the HCAC by a wide margin with 6.58 digs per set, while sitting fifth with 318 total digs on the season. She also added a pair of assists and a service ace in the victory.
The Yellow Jacket football squad returns home for a Homecoming matchup against Manchester University on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1:30 p.m., while volleyball hits the road on Wednesday, Oct. 4 for a battle with Earlham before they return to the Weaner Center to do battle with Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m.
