DEFIANCE, OHIO – The Defiance College football team takes time out of their busy camp schedule to give back to the community.
On Wednesday, Aug. 12 the football squad traded pads and helmets for shovels and paint brushes. The team worked together to cover 11 different projects in the Defiance community and the surrounding area. These projects included different activities from spreading fresh mulch at local parks to working with the staff of the local Boys and Girls Scouts Camps. The community service day has become a staple event in the Yellow Jacket football preseason schedule.
The Purple and Gold will begin the 2015 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 when they travel to Adrian, Mich. to compete against non-conference foe Adrian (Mich.) College. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
