In the conference opener, the sophomore defensive back was all over the field for Purple and Gold. Feldhuas led the defense with 11 tackles (one for loss), caused his National Collegiate Athletic Association-leading fourth forced fumble and returned it 55 yards for a score and added one pass breakup. This is Feldhaus' first time receiving the award.
For the 2013 season, the sunshine state native has racked up a team-leading 28 total tackles (20 solo), which is already double what he had a season ago (14). Feldhuas is also first in fumble recoveries (two), second in tackles for loss (4.5) and third in sacks (one).
This was the second time in 2013 that the DC football team has notched a conference player of the week, as freshman quarterback Alex Larson (Highland, Mich. / Milford) earned the offensive award.
Yellow Jacket's football will be back in action Saturday, September 28, when it travels to Anderson, Ind. for its second HCAC test against the Ravens. The game is slated to kick off at 2:30 pm.
