The game-saving play, similar to that of so many made by Longsdorf during his outstanding career on the gridiron with the Yellow Jackets, capped an impressive showing for the free safety. The Third-Team All-American racked up a trio of solo tackles and assisted three more stops, while blocking a kick and hauling in the crucial interception.
Longsdorf was not the only former DC football standout to shine at Crew Stadium in Saturday's Senior Bowl, as Tom Foos handled the punting duties for the South Team. The Second-Team All-North Region performer stuck two of his three attempts inside the 20-yard line and added a 40-yard boot.
The all-star game capped the terrific collegiate careers of Longsdorf and Foos, who led Defiance to a second-place finish in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2010. Longsdorf took home HCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Year honors, while Foos was named the HCAC Special Teams Player of the Year.
