Longsdorf broke open a scoreless tie in the second quarter by intercepting a Quaker pass deep in his own end zone and running it back 100 yards for the first score of the day. The pick six catapulted Defiance to the 33-point rout, in which Longsdorf added five solo stops amongst his six tackles.
The shutout was the first time that Defiance had blanked an opponent on the road since topping Adrian, 10-0, on September 9, 2006, and the 33-point margin of victory was the team's largest away from Coressel Stadium in Rob Taylor's eight-year tenure.
The HCAC weekly honor is the fourth time that Longsdorf has received the award in his career and the second-straight time this season. The Yellow Jackets have now earned five HCAC Player-of-the-Week awards on the gridiron in 2010, marking the most of any program in the conference.
Longsdorf and the Jackets (3-3, 3-1 HCAC) will try to improve to 4-1 in league action for the first time since 2007 when they host Anderson on Saturday at 1:30 pm.
