DEFIANCE, Ohio – In Wednesday night League of Legends action versus the Tiffin University Dragons, Defiance College esports was defeated, 2-0, in a best-of-three Great Lakes Esports Conference match.
Defiance had several leads in the opening game but ended up dropping it, 30-24. The Dragons also won the second game, 38-16, to take the series.
"The first game was incredibly close. It was very disheartening to lose that one," DC head coach Chris Sanders said. "In game two, Tiffin outmaneuvered us on the map for a 30-minute victory."
Damon Thomas led a balanced attack for the Yellow Jackets with 28 takedowns. Stephen Jones recorded 25 takedowns and was followed by teammates Garrett Snyder (24), Dakota Swift (22) and David Andrew (20).
Defiance is slated to play a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate match against GLEC foe Manchester University on Thursday night.
