DC Blanked in HCAC Opener at Franklin
FRANKLIN, Ind. -- Defiance never got on track on Friday in its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opening game at Franklin on Friday, as the Grizzlies held the Jackets to three hits and rolled to the 22-0 victory.

FRANKLIN, Ind. -- Defiance never got on track on Friday in its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opening game at Franklin on Friday, as the Grizzlies held the Jackets to three hits and rolled to the 22-0 victory.
Neither team scored in the opening frame, but Franklin exploded for four in the second and the onslaught continued over the rest of the game. The Grizzlies plated runs in every inning except the first and fifth and pushed four or more runs across in three separate innings.
Defiance (3-6, 0-1 HCAC) got two of its three hits from Kirk Jesse, while Tim Pitro turned in the Jackets only other safety of the afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets will look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon when it sends Matt Wilson and Brad Timofeev to the hill in the doubleheader beginning at noon.
