Hensley named HCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
CARMEL, Ind. - Senior Riley Hensley has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week. This is the first time in Hensley's career that he's received the honor. This is also the second straight week a Yellow Jacket has been named HCAC Player of the Week as Orry Killam was recognized last week.
In Defiance's three games last week, Riley scored four goals including the game-winner against Hiram. In the 4-2 victory over Hiram, Hensley recorded his first career hat trick. Hensley would also score the only goal of the game for the Yellow Jackets at Adrian.
In total for the week, he recorded 11 total shot attempts with eight being on goal as he finished the week with four goals which translates to him recording eight points during those two games.
Riley was one of two players to record a shot on goal in the loss to Baldwin Wallace.
He currently leads the team in goals with seven and points with 14 as the Yellow Jackets open conference play tomorrow night at Manchester.
